We're so glad you're visiting our website today. We are Croydon Jubilee Church. We were planted a little over forty years ago in a living room no more than a ten minute walk from our current building, and with a strong desire to make the name of Jesus known in Selsdon, Croydon and across the UK and the nations.
For all of those forty plus years we've met in various schools halls all around the local area. Apart from one Summer, when we were without a building and spent six weeks in a local park enjoying the grace of God as it never even drizzled. In 2013, having successfully run a small local community space, Croydon Council asked us if we would run the much larger Selsdon Hall on behalf of the local community and since then we have called Selsdon Hall our home and we meet there on Sunday's and in homes throughout the week.
We belong to a global family of churches called Regions Beyond and we hope and desire that our gaze would be as much on the nations need for the gospel as it is on Croydon's need for that same good news; that because Jesus came, lived a perfect life and died a sinners death, for sin, that people can be forgiven, and can know God, enjoying friendship with the Father, through the Son, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, and be changed to become more like Jesus.
We also enjoy good relationship with churches in our immediate area, in Selsdon and all across Croydon, believing that not only can we do more together than we can apart, but also that our unity demonstrates our belonging to Jesus and the reality of his power at work through His Church.
Our congregation is becoming increasingly younger and more diverse and we eagerly desire to be a community where anyone will feel loved and welcomed and be able to find friends along the way, for as long as God calls us to co-labour for his kingdom in this place.
We believe the gifts of the spirit are still active today, and desire that all would use and grow in them whenever we come together and we believe the bible is the unchanging and trustworthy word of God and every week will include a time where we prioritise letting it speak to and shape us.
Croydon Jubilee Church is led by a team of elders, consisting of one full-time elder and three marketplace elders with the support of various other men and women leading in various ways and areas across the life of the church.
We hope all of that is helpful to know, but the best way to get to know us is to come and join us.
